Four Victorian art studios are rebuilt into a unique 6,000 sqft family home. In collaboration with designer Philippe Starck, the design’s driving elements are the requirement for regular large scale entertainment and the display of the client’s extensive collection of artwork and objects. A new basement floor extends through the entire footprint of the property. Entertainment occurs on all three floors, with a disco and a bar in the basement, living and dining on the ground floor and a wrap-around roof terrace at the mezzanine level. Philippe Starck’s creative sense of humour, a unique use of materials and meticulous detailing make this project truly one of a kind.
